Dehydrated Cocktail Garnishes FAQs

Welcome to the ultimate garnish cheat sheet. Here you’ll find answers to the most common questions about Garnish Game’s dehydrated citrus wheels, flavoured salts and edible drink garnishes — plus tips on how to use, store and serve them like a pro. Whether you’re behind the bar or hosting at home, we’ve got your drinks covered.

How long do dehydrated citrus cocktail garnishes last?

Keep those gorgeous Garnish Game dehydrated citrus wheels of goodness in an airtight container and you will be good to go for 12 months.

Are your dehydrated cocktail garnishes vegan?

You betcha! And gluten free too in case you were wondering. There are also no preservatives, colours or flavours added.

How do I store dehydrated citrus?

The Garnish Game team suggest you keep your dehydrated citrus wheels in a cool, dry place away from sunlight and humidity — think pantry, not fridge.
Once opened, store them airtight in their original tin or a glass jar with a tight lid. This keeps them crisp and aromatic for up to 12 months.

Note: Over time, dehydrated citrus may naturally lose some of its vibrant colour, but don’t stress — this doesn’t affect the flavour or quality. They’ll still taste just as zesty and delicious.

Pro tip: Avoid keeping them near stovetops, dishwashers or windows — humidity is their worst enemy.

How should I store flavoured salts?

Flavoured salts prefer a dry, dark spot — a cupboard or pantry shelf is perfect.
At Garnish Game we suggest you keep the container tightly sealed after each use to preserve flavour and prevent clumping. If your salt is slightly clumped, give a light shake prior to opening.
If you live somewhere humid, add a food-grade silica sachet to absorb extra moisture.

Stored properly, your salts will stay perfect for up to 12 months (and often much longer).

What’s the best way to store flavoured sugars?

At Garnish Game we suggest you store your flavoured sugars in an airtight container in a cool, dry, dark place.
Exposure to moisture makes them clump or harden — so reseal immediately after every use.
Shelf life: around 12 months — but let’s be honest, they’re too delicious to last that long.

How do I store Cocktail Confetti?

At Ganish Game we suggest your Cocktail Confetti should be kept sealed, upright, and away from heat or direct sunlight.
Don’t refrigerate or freeze — moisture will ruin the crisp texture.
Kept airtight and dry, your confetti stays colourful and crunchy for months.

Garnish Game Pro Storage Tip

Once opened, seal it tight, keep it dry, and store it out of the sun.
Airtight = long life.
Humidity = heartbreak.

What can I do with citrus cocktail garnishes besides popping them in my drink?

At Garnish Game we know the options are endless. Top cupcakes, add to tea, decorate the Christmas tree, make a wreath or sprinkle over a grazing board - can you tell we dig dried citrus??

How do I salt rim a cocktail?

Margaritas are our love language so we know a thing or two about creating the perfect marg and it starts with a good salt rim. Glass options are plenty - at Ganish Game if we are creating a Tommy marg we go for an old fashion, if we are making a frozen marg we reach for a stemmed glass. Start by running a cut lime around the rim of the glass or if you are only wanting a small salt rim try only doing half - this gives the drinker the option of enjoying the salt or passing on it. Next, shake off any excess salt including any that falls inside the glass. Finally, pour the margarita into the glass ensuring the cocktail does not touch the salt. Voila, the perfect marg!

What can I use the floral confetti for besides cocktail garnishes?

At Garnish Game we think the options are endless. Besides prettying up cocktails our dehydrated organic floral confetti is great to decorate baked goods - think topping iced cakes. They are also great in salads and sprinkled on grazing boards. A quick and clever idea is to roll a log of goat’s cheese in the floral confetti - 100% guaranteed to elevate your cheese board.

Besides salt rims for cocktails, what other uses are there for flavoured salt?

Flavoured salts have a zillion uses according to the team at Garnish Game. Sprinkle on roast potatoes, potato wedges/fries, salads, vegetables, pasta, meat, seafood, over soups, in sandwiches or incorporate to spreads, dips, sauces and dressings.
